Description
The best machine age or Bauhaus style art deco clock set. This is a designer set, it has art deco written all over it. 1930s old. This clock is proof of changing design in the early deco period. Straight lines and a show of the industrial capacity of creating more forms. It is a combination of marble and chrome and red copper. Even the pendulum was tailor made for the clock. The dial is perfect with art deco numbers. The matching lamps are there with the original shades, the shades look chrome too, I tried to picture that. French bayonet catch fittings, buyer needs to add a plug to the cord to its country standards. The shades are in excellent condition. Clock work is working, and has not been checked. The set is a fresh find, it needs cleaning and polishing, I leave that up to the buyer. It is missing the glass in the back door. Chrome has some stains and is dull. Some spots on the copper. Minor chips on the edge of the marble. As said it needs cleaning. No markings on it, only on the bottom plate of the clock case it says depose. The clock stands approx 15” or 39 cm tall and 16.5” or 42 cm wide and 5” or 13 cm deep. The lamps stands approx. 13” or 33 cm tall and 5” or 13 cm wide and 4” or 10 cm deep.
