Embroidered old Dutch, what we used to call, reading board. Back in the day kids learned reading and grammar with these simple words ” aap” (monkey) “noot” (nut) “mies” (Mies). In early childhood memories this is what stands out how we learned to read and write. Some folks around the world surely remember this school practise. It is a great example of Dutch folklore and heritage. It was made by a grandmother for her son or grandson that is unclear, but on the back it was dedicated “for Emiel from Grandma. 1988. Which gives us also the year it was made. It is framed in a nice frame with plastic glass. It is approx. 27″ or 69 cm wide and 19” or 47 cm tall. Used items signs of use.
