Description
Dial for an English grandfather clock. Marked Thomas Ramsbottam Barnsley. FECIT which is Latin for “He made”. The previous owner had a note in it saying it was build in 1750. The dial has a secondhand and a date ring, Very nice ornaments around the dial on the back there are 3 pins to fasten the clockwork. The dial measures approx. 17″ or 43,3 cm tall and 12 3/8″ or 31 cm wide. The distance to the arc is 12 3/8″ or 31 cm tall. The distance of the top pins from center to center is 4 3/8″ or 11 cm from the top pins to the bottom pin is 5 1/2″ or 14 cm. Distance from the top pins to the center of the hands axe opening is 3 1/2″ or 9 cm and from the low pin it is 2 3/8″or 6 cm. Distance from the wind holes to the hands axe opening is 1 1/2″ or 4 cm. Small piece of one of the top spandrel is missing. Used item signs of use and age.
